Hello Events Folks,

Here are the much anticipated notes from our first meeting on 3/13/07:

We decided to make our first event a recreational/recruitment event for the Associates. We tossed around a lot of fun ideas and each chose something to look into further for our first event:

1) Wine tasting - Glenn
2) Beer tasting - Erica
3) Baseball Game - Michael
4) Sports in Central Park - Li Chia
5) Concerts in Central Park - Allison
6) Lincoln Center Activities - Eleanor

Other ideas that came up included:
1) Randall's Island
2) A day at the beach
3) An annual meal delivery day, followed by a meal/social event (available months are June, July, September, November)

We agreed that the Events Committee will meet at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10th at Connelly's.

Adding my two cents- the next Associates meeting is planned for the following week at 7:30 and the Spring Benefit Auction is on April 11th. How does everyone feel about meeting for 30 minutes before the Associates meeting, rather than having a separate meeting on the 10th?

Sorry for the delay in posting this! Hope you all have been well!

Erica

Hey guys,
It looks like the official summer concert (Summerstage, Philharmonic and the Met) season has not yet been announced. I hope by May to have the details.

There is Shakespeare in the Park, however, getting tickets for that requires either a $100 donation/person or waiting in line overnight. For these reasons, it seems a bit infeasible for a Burden center activity, but just in case the shows/dates are:

Romeo & Juliet (6/5-7/7)
A Midsummer Night's Dream (8/7-9/8)
